The science, economy and culture of China were subject of a China-Week that took place at the University of Göttingen from 6th to 9th July 2010. China’ central position in research and economy was vividly presented in workshops, lectures and discussions, as well as in a comprehensive cultural program.
The jointly presented poster on the existing project cooperation between Göttingen and Hangzhou as well as their objectives within the broader multi-disciplinary project achieved considerable interest during the opening ceremony.
Among the speakers and guests were senior representatives from universities, funding bodies and business enterprises of both countries. The wide program was directed to students, scholars and alumni of the university as well as to the regional economy and the general public.
Thus, the China-week was a good start for the three doctoral students Ma Yongxi, Qi Huibo and Li Yuanlong at the University of Göttingen who will stay at the Department for Agricultural Economics and Rural development from the 4th July ongoing for at least three months, in order to perform both, micro as well as macroeconomic analyses cooperatively with the Göttingen group for a more optimized farm management in China.
